i have 100 grams of the gold flake and would like extract for purity?
how would i be able to melt it down? ive tried to hammer it and got a nice solid 34 gram gold flake nugget.now the problem is melting it without varnishing it or burning it to a crisp. Another question is if it is pure gold, and i learn how to melt it and wanted to add a hardener like a pallaium ring, would i have to melt the palladium first cause it is a higher melt point, or does it not matter what i melt first?
when you melt it you should do it with mercury. the gold will stick to the mercury then you have to strain it through cheese cloth. then you melt the gold with sterlin silver to make it stronger.
